Gobble, Gobble

We are working through some new sleeping patterns with Anna Ruth right now. One day this week she got to scratching on her mattress while I was trying to pat her to sleep. So I gave her this lovey to hold to help get her to sleep. It worked! I sat and did my nails while she drifted off...then took the lovey away. :)
I haven't blogged about this book yet-but Jana got me this for my birthday. I am a HUGE fan of Martha Stewart books. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of hers specifically-but her creative crew that put together all these fabulous ideas are awesome!

I've been getting DIY ideas for Christmas. I love a good project :)

We gave Anna Ruth cereal for the first time last night! (thanks Aunt Becca for the cereal!)

She wasn't a big fan of the spoon-basically just didn't know what to do with it.

But she took it right down in the bottle! I can't wait to give her "real food"-veggies and things. I think she'll love it!!

I made Anna Ruth a Thanksgiving onesie. I plan on making her a rolled flower barrette to go with it too-if I get the time.

I've been a bit "under the weather" since Saturday-sinus/throat stuff pretty bad. However-water, Advil Congestion relief, and most importantly prayer and the care of my hubby, is helping! I am slowly on the mend. :)

although I haven't mentioned it yet...........HUGE CONGRATULATIONS
to my friends the Hendersons, and their new baby Liv! :)

Snow day #454544........ :) I sewed these Log Cabin quilt squares for our house. I'm planning on framing them..

Scenes from my 5 minute, sun-filled walk yesterday :)

Learning more about the camera; practicing on Brett :). I love this picture of him.
*sidenote: The meaning of Anna Ruth's name:

Ruth-friend, companion

Baby girl's name, Snow, and Thankfulness

Announcing our baby girl's name:
Anna Ruth :)
She can be called "Anna Ruth", just "Anna", or as I imagine family might call her, "Ruthie"

We are in the middle of snow, ice, and lots of it. I am thankful (soo thankful) the electricity has stayed on! "This too shall pass".....while listening to The Sound of Music today while I sewed I heard the line "I am confident spring will come again!".....

deeeeeeep tracks going to the mailbox.

Anna Ruth is growing and I felt her kick (while my hand was on my stomach) for the first time yesterday. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing, so fun! :) I yelled "shut up!" and grabbed Brett's hand but we weren't quick enough for Ruthie girl :)

Beautiful pink flowers from Janice-a bright spot in the condo :)

Taggie blanket I made today

More burp cloths for Anna

I prepared this dessert for our first ever Connect Group last Sunday! We had a great time eating, fellowshipping, and playing with the kiddos. I also made Huntington Hen, my mom's famous casserole. It was good, but I said "It doesn't taste like momma's though...." Jana's response? (which made me laugh) "It never does."

These scraps might not look like much now, but I'm going to sand on them and someday paint or stain them to make blocks for our baby girl. :) I rescued these scraps from our house construction site !

First sewing project for baby girl: Burp cloth :)

These are the colors the nursery will be decorated in: orange, aqua, green, blue, and hopefully some mustard yellow too......

Joann's was having a great sale :), hence all the material. I'm going to make a taggie blanket out of this stack....

Not sure what I'll do with this....but it was too cute to pass up. :)

Today I spent time with Brett and Jack on the farm....looking around our house and tagging cattle. Jack taught me how to put the tags on this device....so Brett would get the cows going in the right direction, Jack would get them in place, and I'd hand the tag over :).

Our fireplace, complete with rock. We love it!

A "peek" into our view from Fairway Circle...

Yeah for snow days this week!

Our dear, dear friends, Louis and Regina (and baby Marcell!) are moving on Tuesday. :( We got to spend an evening with them and some other friends as well last night. It was great fun to have such good fellowship with other believers. We laughed and laughed, and then tried not to cry as we prayed over the Bordes family.
As Michael W. Smith says....."Friends are friends forever, if the Lords the Lord of them."

:)

happy
