Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you to Brett's family for having a wedding shower for us! :)

The shower was yesterday and it was just lovely. The food, company, and decorations were excellent! Brett and I received a lot of nice things.....we were overwhelmed in fact. We are so blessed!

The wedding is coming up very quickly, in about 26 days to be exact. Brett and I are both are ready! Everyone keeps asking how the planning is coming and I think really well! We have a few things left to do obviously....but as far as big things to plan or schedule (such as a photographer, florist, etc.) that is all done.

My days the next few weeks will be spent working on thank-you notes, getting things ready for school (we start in about a month), cleaning around the condo, and finishing up things for the wedding. :)

"goin' to the chapel and we're...gonna get married".

A look at life lately!
I've been working on condo, school, and wedding stuff...plus I'm doing VBS at church this week! I'm also getting to enjoy the summer as well. :) Things are busy, busy, busy! One month (and one day) until the wedding.... :)

Good mornin'! :)

Well, things are certainly movin' right along for the wedding! I met with a lady at the Town Center this morning to go over the room arrangement/layout. They will have the tables, chairs, etc. ready and waiting for us the morning of the 25th. I think this will be such a big help!

It was very exciting to get this done because now we can rent an arch and a few other things for the ceremony ( I don't want to give too much away ). I think we're going to have such a big, yet simple celebration. Brett and I both absolutely cannot wait. We are so excited!! :)

In other news, my twin sister Jana is expecting baby Caleb any day now! My mind has been on that a lot the past few days. I am so excited to meet the little guy....and to be an aunt to three kids-what an honor!

My heart has been very thankful lately for family (new and old) that has been so helpful and just willing to do whatever Brett and I need for the wedding. A BIG thank-you!

talk to ya'll soon!

Brett and I received our first gift as a couple today! I got the big box in the mail from Dillards and waited until Brett could come over to open it. We wanted it to be equal when we opened it so we each grabbed part of the bow to untie it. Yes, we were that dramatic (okay-so I was being the overly dramatic one). Anyhow, we were both very excited! We received two place settings of our china........such a thoughtful gift. :)

180 wedding invitations are signed, sealed, and will be delivered tomorrow! (mailed tomorrow) :)

I'm excited!

Momma and I got a lot done for the wedding today..it feels so nice to be checking things off the "to do" list.

I found a version of the Wedding March online tonight that is just absolutely beautiful. Is it wrong to post it on here? Hmmm....I don't know these "rules"! I think I shall wait and make you all listen to it at the wedding. :) Six weeks from today!

I don't think I had mentioned this information yet, but my bridesmaids will be my sisters, Jana and Becca, both sharing the role(s) of matron of honor. I will also have Abby and Sally Dorman, and Lillie Eaton standing right by me.. What a blessed girl I will be! It is such a joy to have my dearest friends standing right by me on such a big day.

I hope ya'll are ready for some pie because thats what we're eating at the reception! I am a huge dessert fan......but not especially a wedding cake fan. So we're going to have homemade cakes and pies. (my mouth is watering just thinking about it....think I'll be able to calm down enough to eat any that day? Nah...I didn't think so either :) )

Sorry for the random post......I have convinced myself I've kept everyone up to date on details and major things, but silly me, I haven't! Forgot to tell one of the bridesmaids the date was officially changed. Oh dear.... :)
'till next time,
Sara

So much has been happening the past few days, as far as wedding preparation! I have been working on invitations, and will have them ready to mail by Saturday......which is either right on time, or maybe even a few days late. Brett and I realized tonight we get married six weeks from Friday! If the next few weeks are anything like the past few, it will fly on by!

We have been so blessed to be able to move the wedding date up, because we will now have four days afterwards to relax at Big Cedar Lodge. We are extremely excited about this time of rest and fun!

Several people have asked where we will be living afterwards......and the answer to that is my condo. It will become "our condo"......and we're not sure how long we'll be living there.

If you've tried to look at our registry, you may have had trouble if you typed in "Brett Torbett", because he registered as "William Torbett". I believe he got that changed online tonight though. So you can try Sara Capper, Brett Torbett, or William Torbett.

Sure do appreciate everyone's offers to help....as soon as I get these invitations in the mail I'll know a little more specifically what I need help with and I'll let ya know! :)

love,
the future "Mrs. Torbett" #2 :)

WE MADE IT.

We are now registered! Brett picked me up about 10:00 this morning and we went for a light breakfast, and then headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Whew! We were there for quite a while, but feel like we did a good job registering. Brett was so kind all day and very helpful....it was definitely a joint effort, not a stressful thing as many people suggested it might be.

We registered for cookware, bakeware, some small appliances, "gadgets" and such. We are also going to register for our comforter there.

We then moved on to lunch and Dillards. This took some patience! They don't let you scan the items yourself........you have to have a store clerk scan everything for you. So while Brett and I were having conversation about what we liked/didn't like there was someone standing there the whole time. It ended up working out just fine though. We registered for some very, very nice things at Dillards (china, every day dishes, serving pieces, and a slow cooker)
Our last stop was Target....we got a few decorative items there, as well as towels, bath math, and shower curtain (and maybe a few things for the kitchen? Can't remember)
Anyway, we both felt like we did a pretty good job...... we hope! :)

The picture at the top is our every day dishes...they are a cream/off white color and look like antiques..The picture below this is an example of the serving pieces we registered for at Dillards.

We are going to register at Dillards, Target, and Bed Bath and Beyond.

This is a sample of the china we will be registering for.....so cute :)

"Love is the key. Joy is love singing. Peace is love resting. Long-suffering is love enduring. Kindness is love’s touch. Goodness is love’s character. Faithfulness is love’s habit. Gentleness is love’s self-forgetfulness. Self-control is love holding the reins."
Quoted by: Donald Grey Barnhouse

Heard this in a sermon from Pastor Steve Sunday and it is just so true...

Whew, another day of working at school, and preparing for the wedding! I will be finished (somewhat) with work next week and will have more time to devote to the wedding. That will be nice! No one ever tells you how planning a wedding is both the most joyous and tiresome time of your life. :)

Exactly two months from today at this time Brett and I will be getting married. :)

Momma has been helping me a lot with decoration/food ideas......Daddy always says "Your momma is a smart cookie". I agree, and also think that "Great minds think alike". Momma and I both had a few similar ideas for decorations.... It is very nice to have another pair of eyes looking for things for the wedding (disclaimer: if something is missing from your home or yard we may have it! )
I will definitely need everyone's help after I get all the "big" things taken care of (invitations, registering, photographer, etc.)
Time to go for now.....
p.s.-Got a new cd today from Bebo Norman called "Between the Dreaming and the Coming True". Definitely worth a listen!

A sneak peek at decorations!

Hi Everyone!
Well, Brett and I have been engaged for one week and two days. :) I have been trying to keep everyone updated on the details of the wedding thus far, but can't seem to keep up with all of the phone calls. So, please check here for the specifics and plans for the wedding. I will try to keep this updated!

In case you haven't heard "the story"....Brett and I went fishing on Saturday, May 24. We took the boat out and stopped at a beautiful spot on the lake. I thought we were just relaxing and enjoying the day, but Brett had bigger plans! He pulled the most beautiful ring I've ever seen out and said "Will you marry me?" After I said "YES", for the first time in my life, I was actually speechless :), but smiling from ear-to-ear.

The phone calls, e-mails, and visits started to spread the news. We have been so overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone who has expressed such happiness for us. We feel so loved!

The planning for the wedding started soon....because as my momma told me, the wedding was coming up in 10 weeks! :) We are getting married on Sunday, August 3rd.

So, one week into the engagement and here's what we have thus far:
Dress-Taken care of!
Facility-Fayetteville Town Center for the ceremony and reception
Preacher-Mr. Jared Graham
Bridesmaids-:) Have them all lined up!
Groomsmen-Got these too
Food-Homemade cakes, pies, etc. We're going to have a big family potluck :)
Music-Expect to hear a little bluegrass....country......Frank Sinatra....and then some :)
Decorations-We're going for an antique/rustic look.
Colors-Chocolate brown/light blue

:)
