Gingerbread house BEFORE:

Let the AFTER photos begin! :)
Keep in mind, this was a first for Olivia, Grandma, and I.

What fun!
If you are curious about advent, (in response to the advent calendar I posted yesterday)
here are the three definitions dictionary.com gives
1.) A coming into place, view, or being; arrival
2.) The coming of Christ into the world

You can also use an advent wreath, which includes five candles. (I don't suppose it would have to be a wreath) There are four candles, one for each Sunday leading to Christmas, and a fifth candle for Christmas Day. You can use different colors for your candles, such as purple to represent repentance, pink to symbolize joy, and white to represent Christ's birth.
As you come to each Sunday and light a candle, there are specific verses you can read along with the lighting of the candle. If you're interested, go here for more details!

My favorite Christmas reminder I've heard so far this year:
"Give presence."
