I am making a bird mobile for Lainey's room and this is part of it so far. A HUGE thanks to Becca for helping me figure out how to sew these birds. :) They (with lots others) will eventually sit on branches and hang at various levels (if this is okay with Momma Mccraine, I haven't mentioned it to her yet :0

I think that you should go here:

and sign this petition! Jamie Oliver is doing a six series show called "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution." The whole emphasis is on changing the way America eats, and especially changing the way children are raised to eat. I was blessed to live in a home where healthy food was always provided and treats were eaten in a balanced proportion. I was also blessed not to have to eat the unhealthy cafeteria food at school on a daily basis. This is not the case for a lot of kids now and food needs to change!
:) I feel very passionately about this!

Guess who was the loser in Scrabble tonight?
I love the game of Scrabble.
Brett took me to Arsaga's tonight (nice change of scenery) and we enjoyed a game. He beat me. By a lot. He was whipping out 20+ point words! Maybe I should talk less and store up longer words in my brain too. :)

:) Special thanks to Becca and Kyla coming to visit Westwood today!!!!! It was such fun to have them there :). The kids just loooved Kyla and she was so sweet to hug on me for a minute when she left-just melts my heart! She said "I love you Aunt Sara, you don't even know how much!"
Stunning! My sweet husband got on his knees in the pasture and took this picture for me.....

Lately I've been working a lot so all creative thoughts have been geared towards dinner, and not much sewing or crafting (soon!)
This week I made "Coconut chicken with sweet chili dipping sauce." Four things I think about when cooking-
1.) Is it healthy? (this one isn't entirely healthy because of the high amount of saturated fat in the coconut and the oil you use to fry the chicken in)
2.) Is it affordable on a budget? (this definitely is! I already had chicken, flour, egg, and panko bread crumbs. My only purchase was the Sweet Chili Sauce which we'll use again, and the coconut)
3.) How much time does it take?? (This didn't take much time at all!)
4.) Was it good? (this was DELICIOUS!)
I also made roasted Chickpeas for a healthy snack throughout the week. These pictures are in reverse order, so this is the final product. Directions: Rinse can(s) of chickpeas and let dry completely. Mix 1 teaspoon each of the following with chickpeas: oil, "Tony C's" cajun seasoning, brown sugar. Last, bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes (we baked ours longer to make them crunchy) Delicious and healthy!
