"Chili Rubbed Pork with Avocado Salsa"
new recipe #2-This was delicious! I realllllly don't like frying things in the skillet (I can just hear my heart and arteries screaming "Noo!") but considering we only fry a couple of times a month, maybe, I figured it was ok. Great, great meal! We had this with refried beans on the side :).

Cheerful yellow flowers from Valentine's Day :)
I made my first apron. It was MUCH more difficult than I expected because it was lined....I tried my best and overall I'd say it turned out pretty good. This is from the book Daddy gave me for Christmas.

This week I am excited about cooking 3 new recipes,
finishing another sewing project I have in the works (and hopefully starting a new project!)
sprucing up the exterior of the condo and planting the "FOR SALE" sign in the yard. If you know of anyone who's interested in a 1-bedroom condo in a GREAT location send them our way!

Hooray! I figured out how to add a "button" to my blog, which is actually a direct link to someone else's blog! (this is a first for me)
"Made by Rae" is a blog I really like :), and you will find the button, linking to her blog on the right side of the page. She is having a whole months worth of crafts, tutorials, etc. to make for boys! I thought Jana and Becca would really like looking at something like this. Enjoy!

These are my three Breakout girls! :) Breakout is the small group I lead several times during the month on Sunday nights. There are two boys in our group as well. I have been with this group of kids for almost 3 years and I truly enjoy my time with them!
Haha, this pic is funny
-Tonight our lesson was on anger..........and the difference in righteous anger and sinful anger. To drive the point home about what happens to us when we don't deal with our anger I had the kids put alka seltzer tabs in their mouths, then fill their mouths with 7Up. Pretty soon the combination was too much and they spewed in the trashcan, much like our anger "spews" over if not dealt with!

Beautiful flowers sent from Brett :). Dr. Rogers came bringing them in to school yesterday and I got teased by my fourth-graders. :) Tonight Brett is cooking us a nice dinner!
BIG NEWS-Brett found out today he is in the top 20% of his graduating class! :) :) He was invited to be a part of Betta Gamma Sigma, which is an academic honor society for business students (this will look great on his resume)

Beautiful, wonderful sunshine! :)
Ahhh......today I am thankful for reminders of spring.
I was sewing something today and had some trouble with the needle, so wasn't very motivated to sew something tonight. Until I saw these Scottie dogs. Are these not the cutest things you've ever seen? I can't wait to make one :) Go here for free pattern:

Praise God!
We discovered last night that Brett didn't have his wedding band on. He has never taken it off, from the moment we got married 'till now! We were very confused and puzzled about what happened to the ring. We drove to J.B. Hunt around 9:30 to look for it last night; it wasn't there.
The only thing we could think of was that it must have fallen off when we were playing in the snow. So Brett went and looked at the farm around our sled trail, and then at his mom's house by the snowman giant and used a metal detector and FOUND THE RING.
What a miracle!
We were both praying so hard he'd find it and are so thankful God helped us find it. :)

Pretty bird :) This is a close-up of the china we got at our wedding. We keep two place settings at the condo and occasionally I like to get it down and use it. No sense having it and letting it sit! It's too pretty for that.
This is how our dining room table is currently set. I moved some furniture around today. You can do a lot with less than 700 square feet! A little creativity goes a long way...
Brett's desk used to be in the dining room, but is now in the living room also. The black table from my parents I had is now the dining room table! Confused yet?!
