Our first hotel in Italy is booked! :)
Tonight I booked our hotel in Rome, which is probably one of the nicest places we'll stay in. We are staying on a hill over looking the city, instead of directly in the city. We can take a bus to the tourist places and then walk from there..

"Aventino is a district in Rome, named after the hill that rises up near the Tiber river, and is one of the legendary seven hills of Rome. From the top of this hill you'll get an amazing view of the entire city, and the most popular thing to do around this place is to take a peek through the keyhole building. The keyhole building belongs to the Soverign Military Order of Malta, and when you take that peek, you will see 3 countries, the one I just named, Rome (Italy) and St. Peter's Basilica (Vatican City)."
If you like spicy food, then this is THE sauce for you (and if not, I'm sure you could put less red pepper in). Yumm...we had this tonight and I found the recipe here:
http://realmomkitchen.blogspot.com/2009/01/bourbon-sauce-with-no-alcohol.html
(I used the Great Value chicken and stir-fry, plus rice from the cooking school)

My newest sewing book. In my defense (because I seem to "collect" these) I truly only have three sewing books now....can you ever have too many?
The owl bag is (wrinkly) official finished! this is the tiny owl I put on the back.. Hopefully Kyla likes it :)

Date night with husband.. :)

Close-up of owl on purse for Kyla :). I used wonder-under (sp?) to put the owls and design on the canvas bag, and then hand-sewed around each shape with upholstery thread.
In this picture only the owl on the right is sewn, but you get the idea... :) This purse has a long, off-white smooth rope handle too.

A sneak peak at a current project for a certain bright-eyed three year old :).
PLUS< two links to cooking sites I appreciate.
The first,http://www.tastespotting.com/
has the most beautiful pictures of food. Very inspiring!
The second, http://realmomkitchen.blogspot.com/
is a neat site for practical recipes you can easily make on a budget.

You might want to click on some of these to make them larger........if they're not too fuzzy.... the fifth or sixth picture down are probably the clearest..

Hooray! I just embroidered my first t-shirt, EVER!
I am very pleased with how it turned out....

A peek into daily life...yes, the kitchen gets that messy when I cook :)..... No worries, the mess doesn't last. :)

Very good sandwich (with a funny name.... :) )
Have you ever written yourself a reminder note and tucked it in the fridge...........
or am I the only one?

(and a hush falls over the crowd...) :)
