Remember this sweet, sweet smile? That should warm you up in a hurry!
One of my "dream" rooms someday........ :)
Someday, I'd like a little place like this to store gardening tools........
Well, the big news lately is the ice and power outages in the area.

We have been no exception...the power has been out for three (looong) days and cold nights......
I am sitting with Brett at Hastings for the second night in a row, so that he can study. I've been reading and trying to love and encourage him as much as possible.

In the meantime with all this "free time" (I prefer not to think of it as wasted time) I've been thinking of projects galore............
Love.

I painted this........wasn't sure if painting was something I would enjoy or not so I gave it a try. It was okay....not my favorite.

I made this bib: (actually I just sewed the apple on top)
Happy creating!
Isn't he HANDSOME?:) I "made" (assembled is more like it) this dessert for our quilt meeting today. And then I forgot to save Brett and Daddy some leftovers. :( Sorry guys.... this is an official blog "IOU"
100th post! :)

Current project: Sewing happy suns on a dish towel :) This was my first attempt at sewing around a circle......sooo..it's a bit "puckery". I'll get better!

I have another small sun like this one to sew on, and a large one to put in the middle. Updates later...(i'm figuring out as I'm sewing which ways are faster and look better in the end)
Can you guess what we had for dinner tonight?
happy creating :)

This is a must-read! It's a picture book, but a rather long one at that. I read this to my students, over the course of a few days. We marveled at the beautiful illustrations and lesson in the book, and I almost teared up reading it to them. Plus, if you go to their website http://www.quiltmakersgift.com/ you will see quilt patterns, and even a quilting book based off this fable!
I started this bible study with a group of women from church last week. I am already loving it! It truly makes you dig deep into scripture, as well as take a look at your personal life. I am learning a lot........isn't Beth Moore so fun as well? :)

Last, one of the many sewing projects I already like, and have in mind . :) Maybe in a a year? I'm quickly figuring out I am going to be the type to have several projects I'm working on at once...instead of working on one from start till finish before starting another.
happy sewing and creating! :)
Love.

Happy New Year! Have you made any goals for 2009? Most importantly, have you prayed over 2009?
In other news, this is what my desk area looked like before:This is what it looks like after! You probably can't tell what's in the frames from this far away picture, so look down for more pictures. I put scrapbook paper in the frames (paper was 15 cents, frames were $2.00) and then glued Mary Engebreit calendar pages (so inspiring!) in the middle. A totally new look for about $9.00! :) Can't beat that! Brett liked it too, which is a plus :)
The bottom left picture says "Be a lamp, a lifeboat, or a ladder." Bottom right: says nothing! It shows a picture of a person creating/drawing.
Top left "Anything is possible" and top right "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."
I sit and am inspired now :)
Love.
prayers. :)
